Seattle is my home, I want to die here, though not soon. If you’re visiting, here’s a list of fun things you can try. But here’s the deal, give me feedback of stuff to add/remove from this list

Igor’s list:

  1. Coolest Coffee: Starbucks Reserve Roastery
  2. Coolest Library: Hogwarts
  3. Second Coolest Library: Seattle Public
  4. Fremont: Troll/Lenin

By Neighborhood:

  1. Fremont
    • Favorite Coffee shop: Milstead
    • Retro Arcade: Add-a-Ball
  2. Capitol Hill
    • Favorite Coffee shop: Victrola on 15th
    • Crazy bar: The Unicorn
  3. Ballard
    • I don’t get there often enough to make a recommendation
  4. Bellevue
    • I tend not to be on the east side, but if you’re downtown Bellevue
    • Favorite Coffee shop: Cafe Cesura

Hikes:

  1. Discovery Park - Larger park in Seattle. Big enough to be a hike
  2. Twin Falls - Easy day hike
  3. Tiger Mountain - Top end of easy hike
  4. Little Si - Easier day hike
  5. Mount Si - Serious Hike

If you have a free day, a car, and a desire to do something amazing outside

  1. In Mt. Rainier National Park - Paradise to Sunrise is one of the most amazing scenic drives ever
  2. Ape Caves - Pretty amazing, pitch-black lava tubes. Very amazing experience.
  3. Railroad Tunnel - Pitch-black railroad tunnel fun for a bike ride.

Restaurants

  1. Palace Kitchen (Amazing Burgers)
  2. Tai Tung (Good Chinese)
  3. Beth’s (Giant Breakfast)
  4. Cafe Flora (Vegetarian)
  5. Tanoor (Middle Eastern) - Best Meat
  6. Berliner (Hole in the wall in SLU)

Beaches:

  1. Golden Gardens - Very nice sand beach
  2. Alki Beach - Very nice sand beach in West Seattle
  3. Madison Park - Nice for swimming
  4. Matthew’s Beach - Nice for swimming/Polar Bear Plunge

Parks:

  1. Kerry Park (It’s where all the Space Needle postcard photos are from)
  2. Olympic Sculpture Park and vivarium
  3. Arboretum (+Japanese Garden)
  4. Interlaken
  5. Discovery Park

If you have a friend that works at Amazon:

  1. Get them to give you a tour of the Spheres

By Classic Tourist Attraction:

  1. Space Needle/Seattle Center
  2. Pike Place Market
